Talk to your Soul ......

After a short commercial break .Back again to blogging. At times I was too busy and at times I was too lazy .And now finally something to share with you all :) I am not  carnatic Singer Im just a Bathroom Singer. When I was looking for a perfect topic to prepare for my Advance Level speech I did a small Research (googled ..hahaha) and explored few facts about Raagas, which turned out to be a very interesting.

Art of Thinking in sound is Music.Listening to Music kindles our thoughts makes us  nostalgic to remember our school days,Long last Friends,First crush, farewell.Happiness, sorrow whatever may be the feeling we love to hear Music. When we hear a peppy song we feel like dancing ,When we hear a romantic song our heart melts, when we hear a pathetic song we become depressed. There is a connection between the swaras and our soul.In ancient India, there is a tradition , that pregnant women who listen to the music of Veena are assured of safe delivery. It is said that the first sense that develops in a child in the womb is the “hearing sense” and the harmonic music emanating from the strings of  Veena –the divine instrument  penetrates the womb and makes the child feel the divine soothing effect. Music from strings has the capacity to  penetrate the skin. Music on Veena is said to be very effective since the structure of Veena is very much identical to the structure of a human body.Just like the 24 frets of the Veena, human back bone has 24 divisions.

Here you go one of my favourite song in Veena .

Music with a strong beat can stimulate brainwaves to resonate in sync with the beat, with faster beats bringing sharper concentration and more alert thinking, and a slower tempo promoting a calm and meditative state.Changes in Brain waves brings changes in the body functions and breathing rate. Music beats have a very close relationship with heart beats.

Music having 70-75 beats per minute equivalent to the normal heart beat of 72 has a very soothing effect. Likewise rhythms which are slower than 72 beats per minute create a positive suspense on the mind and body. Rhythms which are faster than the heart rate excite and rejuvenate the body. But Im sure You would get up dance for this fast Beat :)

Good music is indeed therapeutic, and all ragas, in their own way, soothe the mind. One raga that is proven to reduce high blood-pressure levels, promote mental stability and cure depression is Anandabhairavi. A typically classical raga that thrives on melodic oscillations and majestic glides, Anandabhairavi spreads the feeling of joy and fulfillment. Some Songs based on this Raaga.

Nadhiye Nadhiye” from the film “Rhythm”.

"Anbedra mazhayiley" from  "Minsara Kanavu"

We feel blissful and energetic when we often visit Temples there is a scientific reason behind that. The rhythmic sounds of temple bells and conch produced during devotional practices have also been found to have therapeutic applications.

This is just a glimpse from what I had delivered in my speech.I carried my Laptop and speakers to  add effect and played few songs. Every speech is  not to complete and get an additional point and complete my Educational award. Indeed I consider it as a learning experience to explore new Ideas.

You can talk to your inner soul through Music.I talk to my soul .Do you Talk??Share your Thoughts :)

The Morning Magic ....

"Those that get up at 5am rule the world" - Robin Sharma

Every second brings

A fresh beginning,

Every hour holds

A new promise,

Every night our dreams

Can bring hope and

Every day is what you

Choose to make it.

Do you ever wonder why some days “get off” on the wrong foot? Why some days are not as productive as others? Why you are dragging through some days and floating through others? How your day turns out is directly related to the things you do and the thoughts you think in the first hour of the morning. That sets the course of your day, your mood, your energy, and your level of focus and concentration. If you want the day to be amazing and extraordinary, you have got to focus first on how you begin it.

Every day is a gift, a dear chance to strive to become a better person, to do sweet things for others, and to be of service to the world but before you can do any of that, you’ve got to start your day right.Stop hitting the snooze button. It's been your friend for far too long now, and is beginning to bring you down. Don't worry, you can still catch the snooze button on the weekend but eventually you'll stop needing an alarm clock altogether. None of us like change, so take baby steps. Hit the snooze once, instead of three times. Start with waking up 20 minutes earlier to make breakfast, and eventually add in the exercise.Brahma muhurta is the second last muhurta before sunrise, which is one hour thirty six minutes before sunrise.During the time of Brahma Muhurta, the concentration level is at peak. There is nothing like greeting the new day with the sun rising in front of your eyes. This is one of the benefits people practicing Brahma muhurat in their lives. The sun slowly rises and gets brighter each minute that is passing by.

When you wake up in the morning, write down three things you're thankful for. It gets your brain moving and gets you in a good mood because you realize that it's pretty easy to find three things.Set an intention for the day – An intention is not the same as a goal. A goal says you’ll write 2 blog posts and  complete your project presentation before dead line. An intention says you’ll do everything with care, put your best into every task and bring your genius to work. Intention goes deeper than goals.

Studies have shown “morning people” are often more positive, more optimistic and more likely to experience satisfaction in their lives. While several night owls are known for their creativity, they can also pay the price by becoming more likely to succumb to depression .Drive out the Depression .Invite the bright Mornings filled with Magical Hours.

The Change !

As the sun rose, a dew drop became aware of its surroundings. There it sat on a leaf, catching the sunlight and throwing it back out. Proud of its simple beauty, it was very content. Around it were other dew drops, some on the same leaf and some on other leaves round about. The dew drop was sure that it was the best, the most special dew drop of them all.
Ah, it was good to be a dew drop.

The wind rose and the plant began to shake, tipping the leaf. Terror gripped the dew drop as gravity pulled it towards the edge of the leaf, towards the unknown. Why? Why was this happening? Things were comfortable. Things were safe. Why did they have to change? Why? Why?

The dew drop reached the edge of the leaf. It was terrified, certain that it would be smashed into a thousand pieces below, sure that this was the end. The day had only just begun and the end had come so quickly. It seemed so unfair. It seemed so meaningless. It tried desperately to do whatever it could to cling to the leaf, but it was no use.

Finally, it let go, surrendering to the pull of gravity. Down, down it fell. Below there seemed to be a mirror. A reflection of itself seemed to be coming up to meet the dew drop. Closer and closer they came together until finally...

And then the fear transformed into deep joy as the tiny dew drop merged with the vastness that was the pond. Now the dew drop was no more, but it was not destroyed.
It had become one with the whole.

Take Life as it comes it moulds you to get a new experience,It moulds you to undergo a new adventure It trains you to bring the best out of you.So everything will undergo a change. Never be afraid to try something new, because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already know.
To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies put the fish in the tanks with a small shark. The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh! Have you realized that some of us are also living in a pond but most of the time tired and dull? Basically in our lives, sharks are new challenges to keep us active. If you are steadily conquering challenges, you are happy. Your challenges keep you energized. Don't create success and reveal in it in a state of inertia. You have the resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Put a shark in your tank and see how far you can really go.

Colours Of Life

Colour....  Colour What colour do you Choose ? I remember the colour word game we played in our child hood days still.Colour makes us to remember few people, few incidents happened long back in our school days, college days and more Nostalgic moments.

Once I have been to ooty - a school tour and first time I was away from my Parents for 3 days.On the way, they were selling the yellow flowers that made me to think about my mother often .My mom likes to wear a yellow saree.I bought a bunch of yellow floweres and kept it with me for next 3 days .That was the first time I realised Colours can make us to feel comfortable, can make us to feel good, can ward off Loneliness.Colours are something associated with our emotions and different activities of Life.

Have you ever imagined life without color? We are so used to seeing colors that they have become something we take for granted. All colors have their own place. But what if our life had no colors?

Every color we come across conceals a story.Whenever I see white color I recall the peace I felt, when my Granny gave me a warm hug and  a kiss on my fore head when I was a little kid.I measure and treasure moments of my Life through colors.

The Morning sunlight Reveals a world of color by painting everything it touches. The glass windows reflects the Light and makes it to fall on the wall.A glimpse of that Golden color with a sip of coffee  makes me to feel freshness of Morning that completely removes the thoughts of yawning. Joy is a Light a sweet pink that fills the heart and surroundings, soul up with Loads of fun and laughs in the midst of friends makes me to feel the waves of pink shades around. The color of green reminds me a friend who gifted a bamboo plant and said it will wipe of negativity around you. The chocolate brown color brings the good old memories of sharing and eating the dairy milk  with my sister .The Bunch of multicolored balloons tied in any functions at Office / Birthday parties rewinds back to the kindergarden days where we had no performance objectives no commitments .The main Objectives were to play and  smile :) Still we can bring back those objectives in our busy day-to-day Life.

Some days we paint our canvas with Black and grey ..fear and sadness Some days we paint it with full of red, anger, depression and hang it.This canvas is the Mirror of our Life what you paint ,gets Reflected around you.

Life,to me, is like a long, straight ruler with different, pulsating colors on the markers of life, sometimes it can be an unending river of clear, fast water with swirls of color, sometimes icy or warm depths and sometimes it is a huge unfinished painting, waiting for an artist to pick up the brush and finish it's great design of many colors.A single hour consists of thousand colors in it.We need to choose the colors to paint so that it can be  the cause of happiness for people around us .

Dream Begins with a Dreamer - If not now when?

Things work out best for those who make the best of how things work out.
Living a creative life is not about being “an artist.” It’s about going after your dreams, whatever they are. It’s about living an authentic life, the life you want–not the one your parents, or your friends, think you should have.Working toward it entails aligning with the right people, disregarding discouragement from people who don’t support your growth, and taking tiny steps each day to move toward your vision.“The right people” are those who help you, support you, encourage you, believe in you, and guide you on your way to this dream.

Share your enthusiasm and progress with them. They’ll keep you excited and help you stick to your plan.As for those people who don’t support your growth, there will be many of them, and they most likely won’t be malicious. They’ll be well-meaning people who aren’t able to do step one for themselves, and, therefore, think they’re doing you a favor by discouraging you. Politely decline that favor.Always Remember ,there are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.

Allow yourself to be imperfect, allow yourself to be a beginner, allow yourself to play. You’re good now, but sooner or later you’re going to be great.Sometimes the road to get there may be long and hard, but always remember that no great leader had an easy road.Challenges come along the way to everyone, but how you respond and keep going will separate you from the ones that give up. How you respond to them will make you stronger, and remind yourself of everything you’re going to be.Excellence can be obtained if you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible

F.L.Y - First Love Yourself

"I have been a seeker and I still am,
but I stopped asking the books and the stars.
I started listening to the teachings of my soul."

Many of us know intellectually that we need to be good to ourselves if we want to be happy. But it feels so hard. We are simultaneously the harsh judge and the lost, scared child who wants to stop feeling judged. It becomes a vicious cycle. It only stops when we step outside ourselves and observe how we get ourselves stuck. Our “inner critic” is the demanding, unsympathetic internal voice that narrates life with a negative filter, judging, criticizing, and berating everything we do (or don’t do). I haven’t yet learned to completely and permanently silence mine. I have, however, learned to limit its power over me so that it’s less pervasive, less convincing, less harmful, and sometimes even helpful.

We are not Unique..our five fingers are not identical. There will always be someone smarter, stronger, more attractive, more successful, healthier, and happier person than you. Just like there will always be someone who doesn’t have your potential, advantages, or opportunities.Love urself for the current oppurtunities u have,Love urself for ur Potential,Love urself for what you are.

Most people are passionate about something. They have things that really matter to them -- whether it be a cause or a job or a loved one or a hobby. Whatever it is that gets you really excited, focus on it. Embrace it. Run with it. One of the best ways you can learn to love yourself is to zero in on the things that make you the happiest and spend as much time as you can on them. It's okay to say how awesome you are every once and awhile. It's okay to admit that, wow, you did an amazing job on something or accomplished something you never thought you could. Celebrate yourself and your achievements and all of that self-love is sure to find you. Love your awesomeness because, seriously, you are awesome.

Have simple Principles to Love urself.  I can't do a thing about gravity. Even if I wanted to move to Jupiter or the moon for a change in gravity, it's inconceivable that I could. On the other hand, there are lots of things I can do to control my reaction to gravity. There are countless forces in our lives that are out of our control. That doesn't mean we can't do anything about how they influence our work and our life.My simple Principle is to Smile and make others to Smile. And it involves more Laughing till I get tears and making fun.And I Love Me for this attitude. So now sit back and think.Make a list. Grab your  notepad or even your hand and draw up a list of things you can do today to make you feel good.Keep adding to the list. Forgive yourself if you skip a couple and love yourself no matter how long or short the list is and how much you accomplish on it.Be good to yourself. You will train other people to do the same.

Remove your Mask...............

To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Many people I talk with feel that they have no joy in their life. They feel obligated to do so many things that they don’t have time for themselves and the things they really want to do.As a result, they feel drained, anxious, and resentful. With so many outside forces competing for their time, energy, and financial resources, is it really any wonder they feel this way?So what do we do? How can we remain balanced among this sea of obligations and commitments? The answer is to live consciously. By looking at each decision we are making and by asking ourselves, “Is this really what I want to be doing? Is this really what is right for me?” And then by making sure our actions stay in alignment with our true intentions.Saying yes when we mean no often causes us not to trust ourselves. It damages our confidence and lowers our self-esteem.
So why do we do it?We want to Please others all the Time and lose our Originality.

Most people live their lives without being completely honest with themselves? We all have parts of our personalities we want to hide because we are afraid that if people see "the real you," they won't like it.
I draw your attention to the principle of honesty. Why is it so many believe in the high and lofty principles of honesty, yet so few are willing to be strictly honest? People often try to hide who they truly are by trying to be normal and fit in with the crowd. To be honest with others about who you are in this world, you must first be honest with yourself.

Each lie, each deception, each act of dishonesty combines to create a monster that can destroy your character and your life.

Here are my tips on being true to your own self, and as always welcome your thoughts and encourage you to share your tips with Others!
Decide what values and beliefs you have that are important for you to live by.
Don’t compromise who you are for the sake of what others want or expect from you.
Check your gut feeling when it is telling you something feels not ‘right’ for you and act accordingly to stay true to yourself.
Let go of feeling guilty over what others want you to be.
Learn to embrace who you are and what you stand for.

What will you choose? Will you choose to stay in power by acting with the knowledge that you are responsible for every action in your life? Or will you continue to give your power away in order to feel valued and accepted in the eyes of another? The choice is yours :)
